ANDERSON MIGHT BE REPLACED

With the dust barley settled from the end of the season which saw the title taken by Manchester City, Alex Ferguson has already gone to work on scouting potential transfers to strengthen his United side in order to recapture the premier league trophy from their rivals.

A key area Ferguson has highlighted that is in need of strengthening is the centre of midfield. With an abundance of ball winning midfielders such as Carrick, Fletcher and Anderson, the Red Devil’s manager will be hoping to bring some creativity to the centre of their team.

Part of this problem has been the relative failure of Anderson to perform consistently at a high level. Anderson joined for a deal over £20million and has not really justified that price tag since arriving at Old Trafford. He has not been the creative spark that Ferguson had intended him to be and with recent injuries keeping him out of the side the 24 year old may be struggling to stay at the Manchester club for much longer. With transfer rumours rife of incoming players, many have backed Anderson to be outgoing in an attempt to balance the books.

It is believed that United will sign attacking midfielder Shinji Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund as the player has already refused to extend his contract at the German club, and so Dortmund will want to sell the player before losing him under the bosman ruling. Equally the likelihood of the Wesley Sneijder transfer saga finally coming to an end seems more likely as he has declared interest in a move to Old Trafford. With these stars coming in many predict that 24 year old underperformer will be sold with interest coming from Spain. If he were to leave Anderson would most likely be sold in January after new signings have had time to settle.
